Over the past few years, I’ve been lucky to participate in several trade and retail shows and meet lots of great people including buyers, other designers, makers and artists, students, customers and even a couple of famous people.
I’ve finally broken down and written up some of the most common questions that arise, to be helpful (rather than pompous) and before I get tired of the sound of my own voice (which is that of a Midwest American having lived in South West England for nearly 10 years- so a bit Mid-Atlantic, like a DJ or Lloyd Grossman).
If you don’t find the answer to your burning question below, then do get in touch and I’ll see if I can help.

We start processing orders straight away and aim to ship in 5 days, but as these are handmade products, some orders can take up to 3 weeks.

A week!! But I’m desperate-I need it for a secret Santa by Friday! |
We understand, being fly-by-the-seat-of-our-pants procrastinators ourselves- please make a note on your paypal message and we’ll email to confirm.
I’m sure we can work something out, besides banning the loathsome practice of office gift exchanges….

I don’t see exactly what I want - I’d like something longer, shorter, wider, in a different colour |

I’ve given someone an ‘erin original’ as a present and turns out they suffer from arithmophobia... |
If you or your lucky recipient is not completely over the moon with your ‘erin originals’ or on the off chance you discover a fault, we can arrange for a refund or you can exchange it for another item. Please get in touch.

I own a retail shop. Can I sell your wholesale/consign your products? |
Please get in touch with a bit about your shop- your location, website, what products you’re interested in and how you found about ‘erin originals’ and we’ll let you know how to get to our wholesaler information, available as downloads through this site.
We do not consign at this time although we occasionally participate in temporary exhibitions that may include consignment policies- please get in touch if your art gallery or museum would like to exhibit ‘erin originals’.

Are your products made in England ? |
Yes, all items are designed by me and some of the tape measure line are made by a family run manufacturer in Leamington Spa. The rest are made by yours truly.
Where do you get all your tape measures ? |
Trade secret. But if you mean, do I get them from overseas, the answer is ‘yes’. I would love to use the vintage Dean original cloth tape measures but they are not sturdy enough for my designs and are besides are no longer produced. In fact, no tape measures to my knowledge are produced in the UK. At one time I bought my vinyl tapes here in England from a job lot type place and these were made in China as are the ones I use today.

So are your products recycled ? |
Not really, but I’ve never made use of this term, rather I prefer, Creative Repurposing. I know that may sound like smoke and mirrors or a wishy-washy marketing term but what inspires me is taking one material and creating it into an unexpected final product and one the original material was possibly never intended for. I like the surprise element and the working out of designs. Like tape measures into wallets….
Many of my one-off designs, like baby bunting, use vintage or recycled fabrics or those of limited editions.

I’m with the press- can I get some high res photos/samples/interview? |
Press should get in touch with me via email or phone, with information about the publication you work for, your deadline etc and I’ll be happy to help. I do not have any advertising budget at this time so please no emails along these lines.
